Quarantine – something that would have been unthinkable just months ago, has now turned into a daily reality. Having our lives completely turned upside down is the ultimate test of adaptability, so we have to reframe and refocus. Our major concern should be related to trying to stay optimistic, seeing the brighter side of things and respecting the measures that are deemed by medical experts as necessary in reducing the spread of the virus.
For most of us, efficient time management has always been a priority, but more so during this quarantine period, when it became a real challenge. So here are a few tips that are meant to help you create a new routine despite the chaos that is surrounding us:
- Focus on your menthal health
Studies have shown that the psychological impact of quarantine can be great, resulting in a range of mental health concerns from anxiety and anger to sleep disturbances and depression. The causes are most often represented by infection fears, frustration, boredom, inadequate supplies, lack of information or financial loss. Because we are all different, it is important for all of us to establish our own ways of preserving our mental health at home.
For the beginning, you have to create a plan or a routine: make your bed, take a shower and then create a to-do list that is meant to help you get a sense of normality and productivity. You should also take care of your body, and pay more attention to the food you eat, the amount of sleep you get or the regularity of physical exercises you make. Now more than ever, we might be prone to spend more time on the Internet. It’s important to stay connected with your friends or family and stay informed about the situation via reliable sources, but you should also limit your social media intake, so as not to become overwhelmed by the amount of information.

- Work on yourself
You can use your time to work on a new project, learn a new language or improve a certain skill. I am sure you remember that moment when you really wanted to do something, but you did not have enough time. Now you do. Make sure you’ll make the most out of it. You can pursue some relevant certifications which will differentiate you from the crowd, like those offered by Google. You can also check some free language learning apps to help you begin your journey to speaking another language- Duolingo, Memrise, HelloTalk, Babbel or Busuu.
Our creative side plays a major role in your growth and success, so what better time to reconnect with our inner self and satisfy our creativity? - Reflect and focus on you
What have you been doing recently? Are you where you want to be? Do you know where you’re going? Is your life everything you’ve ever dreamed it could be? Once you have the answer to this questions, you can start start making a plan to improve what’s needed or change the things that hold you off. It’s important for you to make sure that at the end of this quarantine, you became a better version of yourself.
- Stay home. Stay safe.
If you use this time right, everything will get back to normal before you know.
